Playing with external hosting…
If you’ve been paying attention to the weird stuff I do with my servers, you might have noticed that I’ve moved some DNS delegation to Google Cloud … I still host locally and delegation to my servers still works, but I also synchronise to a Google Cloud account, and if you want to delegate there, it will take the load off my servers and link, and eventually I might even be able to get rid of my external DNS secondary …
There’s one exception to the “delegate to Google Cloud” though – some of my web stuff is set up with Cloudflare for CDN configuration and DNS. Yes, I’m playing with a few things at once 🙂 I don’t know that I’ll keep the Cloudflare stuff as I’m really not doing much in the way of web serving anymore so it’s not a big deal to host it locally; and if I move some of my VMs into Google Cloud, there’s a CDN in there anyway, and I know how that one works …
