As part of the mayhem in moving to collectd, all information is being stored in rrdtool files instead of letting MRTG do the work of collecting and graphing. Collection is one process (collectd or SNMP fed into collectd), graphs a separate process… and they’re nicer graphs at that
But rrdcached is really important as are reasonable sample rates otherwise you end up trying to write an average of 2T/day to SSDs which isn’t a healthy way to run them….
Don’t just accept defaults sometimes.
